Prague Architecture from River Vltava

Prague skyline

When we were in Prague, we took a sunset cruise on the Vtlava. The views from the river were spectacular. The Prague skyline  is a full of spires and wonderful shapes. The beautiful Prague architecture made the perfect backdrop for the sunset.

Historic Old Town

Historic Old Town in Prague is visible from the river. The architecture is a mix of Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo. The colorful cityscape is reflected in softly moving river below.

Modern Prague

Modern Prague has some non=traditional architecture, such as the Dancing House or Fred and Ginger House. This modern skyline, after dark features the Dancing House and the Jirásek Bridge, is reflected below in the river.

Church Spires

Further down the river, these two spires stood high over the buildings below. The Basilica of St. Peter and Paul is located in the Vyšehrad fortress. I love the way the towers are lit from inside, creating a little detail in the silhouette.
